LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) and its regional partners will be offering several opportunities for industry professionals to learn, grow and connect in June.
Virtual Open House
DLI is inviting all drycleaners to a virtual open house on Wednesday, June 3, at 3 p.m. Eastern. In this online session, attendees will get a guided look at the tools, training and expert support DLI members use to solve real plant and counter challenges, from stain removal and production efficiency to customer communication and cost-saving resources.
Attendees will meet the team, DLI says, and leave with clear next steps to apply right away with no travel required. For more information or to register, visit tinyurl.com/DLI-Open-House.
Maintenance Masterclass
DLI’s next Maintenance Masterclass will take place on Thursday, June 4, at 1 p.m. Eastern. This series, DLI says, helps drycleaners reduce downtime, prevent costly breakdowns and keep plants operating at peak performance. Hosted by Peter Blake of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Cleaners, each live session features brief, practical presentations from supplier and manufacturer experts, followed by a group discussion where attendees can ask questions and learn what works in real-world operations.
Virtual Basic Stain Removal Course
DLI’s next edition of its virtual Basic Stain Removal Course will be held on June 9, 11, 16 and 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern each day. This interactive program, DLI says, combines live lectures, videos and hands-on stain removal activities for a well-rounded learning experience.
During the course, students will:
- Discover how to identify various types of stains and soils.
- Learn the proper use of essential stain removal tools, equipment and methods.
- Understand which stain removal chemicals are essential and how to use them.
- Receive detailed step-by-step methods for removing various stains such as coffee, ink, grease and more.

Board of Directors Meeting and Membership Meetings
DLI’s board of directors and district committee members will meet in Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday, June 12, where they will discuss Institute leadership initiatives and DLI’s ongoing strategic plan implementation. This will be followed by the organization’s annual membership meeting for an in-person update on the health and status of the organization. Members may call 800-638-2627 for information on attending.
Marketing Masterclass
The next meeting of DLI’s ongoing Marketing Masterclass will take place on Thursday, June 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern. The masterclass, DLI says, presents a forum for members to learn about strategies and tactics that sell drycleaning services. Guest speakers share their knowledge and experience with various marketing techniques. Participants are also invited to ask questions and discuss, and will vote on next month’s topic.
Weekly Peer Networking Meetings
Each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, DLI offers peer-to-peer meetings to create a collaborative space where members can share challenges, exchange ideas, and gain insights from fellow operators. These sessions, DLI says, help cleaners build stronger professional networks while uncovering solutions that improve production, customer service, and profitability.
