DLI Offers New Courses, Regulatory Update Webinar in March

Slate also includes marketing classes, peer networking, regional expo

LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) and its regional partners will present several special events in March, including regulatory updates concerning dry cleaners, along with courses, marketing classes and more.

Regulatory Updates

DLI will present a webinar, “Regulatory Update for Garment Care Professionals,” on March 18 at 1 p.m. Eastern.

“Jon Meijer, DLI’s membership director and integral part of DLI’s regulatory and legislative team, will update members on how upcoming changes to government requirements will impact the industry,” DLI says. “Meijer is a 45-year Institute veteran who has served on the front line of the industry’s defense for decades. Attendees will learn what new regulations may impact their businesses in the near future and how to stay ahead of these changes.”

The event is free for DLI members, and an on-demand video will be available afterward for those who could not attend live or wish to review the presentation.

In-Person Drycleaning Courses

DLI’s next round of hands-on drycleaning education courses presented in Laurel begins on March 9. The Introduction to Drycleaning and Advanced Drycleaning courses, DLI says, are “designed to build strong foundational skills and prepare professionals to confidently handle complex garments, equipment and plant operations.”

The five-day Intro course will run March 9-13, and the 10-day Advanced course will run March 16-27. Registration deadline for either course is this Friday, Feb. 27.

Marketing and Peer Networking Opportunities

DLI’s monthly Marketing Masterclass is scheduled for March 19.

This series presented via Zoom, DLI says, offers “practical, one-hour sessions focused on strategies owners can apply immediately to improve visibility, strengthen customer relationships and increase revenue.”

Also, each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. EST, DLI hosts its weekly Peer-to-Peer Zoom meeting designed, the organization says, “to create a supportive space for members to share challenges, exchange innovative ideas and gain fresh perspectives from fellow operators.”
