Clinic: Stain Removal and Customer Communication

PDCA and NEFA join for June program to help dry cleaners serve clients

WILLOW GROVE, Penn. — The Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association (PDCA) and the North East Fabricare Association (NEFA) will be hosting a program, "The Art of Stain Removal & Customer Communication," on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. in Endicott, New York.

The all-day program will begin with a breakfast and a tour of the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. After that, industry experts Jane Zellers of JCZ Training & Consulting and Bob Edwards, of AL Wilson, will present “How Do I Get This Out?”, a clinic on stain removal solutions and techniques.

Some of the topics included in this presentation will be:

  • Recognizing a problem garment before it becomes one 
  • Knowing your fibers and fabrics and their limitations
  • Understanding garment classifications
  • Bleaching, dye stripping and digesting stains

Other topics included during the day will include the most efficient ways to create lines of communication between your front counter and production department.

Topics presented during this part of the program include:

  • How best to converse with your customers about potential issues
  • How to keep everyone on the same page

A Q&A session will be held after the clinic, followed by a tour of nearby Cleaner’s Supply.

PDCA, NEFA, and DLI members are receiving this program as a Membership Benefit. Non-members will pay a $99 fee per plant, which can be put towards DLI membership. Attendees can bring as many of their staff members as they wish.
