LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning U& Laundry Institute (DLI) recently graduated 20 students from its School of Drycleaning Technology’s 388th Introduction to Drycleaning Course and 15 from its Advanced Drycleaning Course.
DLI’s Introduction course consists of five days of in-person, hands-on instruction and the Advanced Course runs for 10 days. Founded in 1927, DLI says, its School of Drycleaning Technology has helped shape the careers of thousands of dry cleaners worldwide.
In these courses, students learned various aspects of dry cleaning, including how to sort loads; fabric construction; how to clean silk, satin and other fabrics; soil and cleaning theory; operating drycleaning machinery and tensioning equipment; stain-removal chemistry and procedures; and more.
