LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) and the Drycleaning Institute of Australia (DIA) are collaborating on a new on-demand education program, Inspection Perfection Training.
The two industry trade associations have maintained a working relationship for several decades, DLI says, sharing information and resources to benefit members of both organizations. The duo’s latest offering will introduce new web-based, on-demand training in the skill of garment inspection in drycleaning businesses.
“Customers expect perfection,” says DLI Director of Education & Analysis Brian Johnson. “Missing buttons, lingering stains, double creases and other very common defects can cause them to try one of your competitors. Our new Inspection Perfection Training course is designed to help your team solve problems like these before the customer sees them.”
Participants completing the self-guided course will receive a Certificate of Completion, DLI says, “recognizing their dedication to excellence in garment care and featuring the DIA and DLI logos.”
Course Overview
The Inspection Perfection Training course is designed to offer an alternative to traditional, in-person training. Designed by DIA using DLI materials, the self-paced online course expands DLI’s Inspection Perfection Training video into a full on-demand, web-based course.
The 100% online format will enable employers to offer training to their employees with no downtime, DLI states, allowing students to progress at their own pace and on their own schedule.
The course covers quality checkpoints for inspecting a variety of finished garments, including:
- Pants
- Suit coats
- Blouses
- Dresses
- Pleated skirts
- Sweaters
- Laundered shirts
- Skirts
Participants will gain insights into maintaining high standards in garment care and inspection, improving customer satisfaction and enhancing their professional skills, DLI states.
After payment is received, participants will be emailed their login details and instructions for accessing the course. It must be completed within two weeks of enrollment.
To learn more or to enroll in the course, visit the enrollment page on the DLI website.
