ANAHEIM, Calif. — The California Cleaners Association (CCA) recently presented a “hands-on” spotting seminar in Spanish. This was a first for Southern California, the organization says in its announcement, adding that the response was “an overwhelming success.”
The event was held at U.S. Western Multitech in Anaheim, California, with Forenta USA providing the spotting boards. Chris Patten of A.L. Wilson Stain Removers and Gina Hernandez of Ortega Cleaners and DLI Spanish translator were the instructors.
More than 35 attendees, mostly Spanish speaking, were given swatches with stains during the seminar. Stain removal techniques were discussed and then the students had a chance to try the stain removal tips firsthand on the various stains.
“I have been in the business for years. I still learned a lot about spotting,” says Erin Hemet of Golden Era Productions. “I wish the class were longer.”
” I have taken many online classes but this experience was so much better,” says Antonia Mazatzi, of Judi’s Cleaners. “The money I spent travelling to attend was definitely worth it.”
“The need to educate our Spanish-speaking employees is great,” the CCA says. “We will see more of these in the future.
