DARIEN, Wis. — Started in 1982 in Darien, Wisconsin, Royal Basket Trucks, a provider of carts for many fields, including the drycleaning industry, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. After recent expansions, the company states that it is ready to take the lessons it has learned in the past four decades into the future.
Royal expanded its physical footprint in the spring of 2020 with an 80,000 sq. ft. building addition. This was driven, the company states, by the need to facilitate large capacity orders while maintaining short lead times for all product types.
Part of this expansion brought in equipment so that in-house rotational molding and thermal forming were no longer reliant on outside partners, says Cindy Lapidakis, vice president of sales and marketing for the company.
“We had outside partners who ran our molds,” she says, “and we got to where they couldn’t keep up with us, so we put in our own.” With this expansion, all Royal poly products are manufactured in their Wisconsin facility.
The company stated that it is also ready for the future, noting that, for the second consecutive year, Royal Basket Trucks will be the title sponsor of this year’s 109th TRSA Annual Conference, set to take place Sept. 13-15, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.
This year, Royal was also recognized as a Future 50 company by the MMAC (Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce), a Top Workplace in Southeastern Wisconsin, a participating member of its community, and has continued to be a strong supporter of local nonprofits.
