Starchup and ZIPS Enter Into Partnership

Companies will cooperate to create new app for ZIPS customers

CHICAGO — Starchup and ZIPS Cleaners recently announced that ZIPS will be utilizing Starchup’s software platform and API tools to launch a new mobile app for its customers. This tool will offer new options to customers using ZIPS home delivery and locker drop-off and pickup services.

ZIPS will integrate Starchup's locker and home delivery tools into its current store software, giving ZIPS the ability to offer a mobile ordering app, advanced text messaging functionality and franchise-focused management tools to improve the garment care experience for consumers and franchisees.

“Working with Starchup allows us to provide more service options, and we are excited to launch our new services on their platform,” says Bob Barry, president/CEO of ZIPS. “Of the available technology options, Starchup will give us the best position to provide the quality of software and service that our franchisees need to succeed. Our partnership will enable franchisees to meet customers where they are, achieving higher satisfaction and retention.”

“Starchup’s mission is to help dry cleaners and laundromats provide a better customer experience through technology,” said Nick Chapleau, Starchup CEO. “Tools like advanced SMS, web and mobile apps, and smart routing technology help operators increase customer acquisition and satisfaction and improve the operational efficiency of home and locker-based delivery. Our work with the ZIPS team has revealed how passionate they are about equipping their franchisees for success and we are excited to support them in that mission.”

ZIPS has nearly 70 open locations throughout the United States, and provides one-price service, regardless of the garment, and other services such as wash-and-fold laundry, pressed laundry, alterations and cleaning of comforters and other household items.

Founded in 2014, Starchup provides POS, delivery and locker software to the drycleaning and laundry industries. In early 2021, Starchup formed SUD Systems with Drop Locker to combine and continue each company's vision of supporting operators with technology solutions.
