KANSAS CITY, Mo. — GreenEarth Cleaning recently announced it has partnered with Nuuly, a clothing rental subscription service with nearly 400,000 active subscribers, to handle dry cleaning for the company’s rental garments. Under the agreement, all of Nuuly’s dryclean-only items will be cleaned using GreenEarth’s silicone-based solvent.
GreenEarth’s cleaning solution is a liquid silicone that the company says is non-toxic, biodegradable and energy-efficient, breaking down into sand, water and trace amounts of CO₂. The process also eliminates the chemical odor commonly associated with traditional dry cleaning, according to the company.
“Our process not only saves energy and protects fabrics — it delivers clothes that are perfectly clean and completely odor-free,” says Andy Lien, technical director at GreenEarth Cleaning. “Together with Nuuly, we’re showing that caring for fashion and caring for the planet can go hand in hand.”
“GreenEarth’s cleaning technology helps us maintain the highest standards of care for our clothes and for our customers,” says Tony Coccerino, senior director of fulfillment at Nuuly. “Our members can trust that their rentals arrive fresh, clean and free of any chemical odor.”
