Pilgrim Dry Cleaners Kicks Off Coats for Kids Drive

Drive has provided almost half a million coats since 1986

MINNEAPOLIS — Pilgrim Dry Cleaners recently announced the kickoff of its 39th annual Coats for Kids drive, a community-wide initiative dedicated to providing warm winter coats to children in need. Since its inception in 1986, the company states, the drive has collected and distributed more than 472,500 coats to families throughout Minnesota.

Running from Sept. 16 to Oct. 19, Pilgrim Dry Cleaners and Davanni’s Pizza locations will be accepting donations of new and gently used children's and adult coats. Collected coats will be cleaned and distributed to local charities and schools.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community, sponsors, and volunteers,” says Laura Dizon, marketing director at Pilgrim Dry Cleaners. “Every coat donated makes a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in need.”

Pilgrim Dry Cleaners is inviting businesses, schools, churches, and organizations to participate in the Coats for Kids drive by hosting coat collection drives at their locations.

The program is operated by the Rose Foundation, a 501C-3 non-profit organization that is the charitable arm of Pilgrim Dry Cleaners. The foundation is named after its founder, Donald Rosen, and the company states that 100% of every donation to the Rose Foundation directly benefits children in need.

“At Pilgrim, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” the company said in its announcement. “We are committed to providing every child in our community with the opportunity to grow and succeed. We invite you to join us in this mission by donating to the Coats for Kids drive.”
