SDA Searching for Fresh Look with Logo Competition

Update seeks to illustrate organization’s expanded region

LEANDER, Tex. — After decades of the Southwest Drycleaners Association (SDA) logo displaying its cowboy hat, the Board of Directors for the SDA has decided step into a fresh new look.

“Our organization is now home to twelve states and we want to not only update our look, but also illustrate our expanded region,” says SDA President Erika Paine, noting that the SDA region includes Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

In order to freshen and update its symbol, the SDA Board of Directors has launched a logo competition where the winner will receive $2,500, along with, the organization says, the bragging rights.

“Our industry is full of creative talent, and this competition aims to showcase that,” says Logo Committee Chair and SDA 2nd Vice President John Rothrock. “We encourage marketing firms, vendor departments, and even individual drycleaners and their employees to participate.”

Submissions are due by Dec. 20 and are to be sent to [email protected]. The SDA plans to unveil the new logo at the April 5 board meeting.

The SDA also posted the following rules for the competition:

  • Logo should be modern and inclusive.
  • Logo should include the name “Southwest Drycleaners Association” in the logo so people know what it stands for.
