MARION, Ohio — Former TCATA President William W. "Bill" Luse, age 95 of Marion, Ohio, passed away at his home on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023. Luse served on the TCATA Board of Directors in the late 1960s and started his term as TCATA President in 1971.
Luse was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Springfield, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Donna Ruth Clark in 1949.
Luse was the owner and operator of Half Hour Laundry, Marion County’s first laundromat. He and his father ran the family business, Marlyn Chemical Co., Inc., manufacturing and selling commercial drycleaning and laundry supplies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
He is survived by his children: William C. (Linda) Luse, Barry (Janet) Luse, Bunny (Jeff) Britton, and Brian (Teresa) Luse; grandchildren: William K. Luse, Carrie M. Rogers, Kenneth “Erik” (Crystal) Luse, Nathan S. (Lisa Perkins) Britton, Dustin W. (Casey) Britton, Casey J. (Angela) Britton, Madison M. Luse and Parker T. Luse; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Kyleigh, William N., McKenzie, Peyton, Collin, Logan, David, Courtney, Carly, Camryn, Cason, Leiam, and Lakelyn. Also surviving is his companion, Judy Roberts.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, William K. (Ivah Mae) Luse; mother, Mary (Charles) Patterson; his wife of 56 years, Donna Ruth Luse; and granddaughter Sarah J. Luse.
