BOCA RATON, Fla. — Addison Court Cleaners, a family-owned drycleaning operation in Boca Raton, Florida, has recently rebranded as Presstine Dry Cleaners. Ownership, staff and services have not changed.
Owner John Baleno, a Certified Environmental Dry Cleaner with more than 55 years of industry experience in Florida, says the new name better reflects where the business stands today.
“The name is new. Everything else, the people, the standards, the way we treat a garment, that stays the same,” Baleno says. “Our customers in Boca Raton have been coming to this location for over twenty years. They know us. We wanted a name that reflects where we are now.”
In-House Processing
The Boca Raton facility handles all work on-site, including standard dry cleaning, shirt laundering, wash-and-fold, couture garment care, wedding gown preservation, leather and suede cleaning, rug cleaning and household textiles. An in-house tailoring team handles alterations and custom fitting.
Baleno says the all-in-house model is central to what differentiates the operation.
“A lot of dry cleaners in this market look the same from the outside. What happens to your clothes once they leave the counter, that is where the difference is,” Baleno says. “We do the work ourselves, in Boca Raton, with people who have been with us for years.”
PERC-Free Operation
Presstine Dry Cleaners operates without perchloroethylene, the solvent that has been the dominant drycleaning chemical for decades and is now subject to federal phase-out rules from the EPA. The business made the switch before the regulatory action, Baleno says, using non-toxic solvents and professional wetcleaning systems calibrated by fabric type.
Baleno holds certifications in comprehensive spotting, textiles and fibers, and OSHA workplace safety, and conducts hands-on staff training in pressing and drycleaning technique.
“Clothes should come back clean. They should not come back smelling like a chemical plant,” Baleno says. “We made the switch years ago. It is better for the clothes. It is better for the people wearing them. It is better for the people working in the shop.”
The business holds a 4.7 rating on Google and was named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite in 2018.
