HANOVER, Mass. — Lapels Dry Cleaning reports it recently converted two existing Hudson Cleaners locations in Tampa to Lapels stores.
Both locations are owned and operated by franchisees, Phillip and Joy Baker of Reddington Shore. The new locations are located at 11209 N. Dale Mabry Highway and 4920 Newkirk Drive, it notes.
“We are delighted to bring the Lapels Dry Cleaning experience to Hudson Cleaners customers and more Tampa residents,” says Phillip Baker. “We use a sustainable, non-toxic method for drycleaning clothes. Subsequently, clothes feel better when you wear them and last longer.”
Prior to Lapels, Phillip was a finance executive in the healthcare industry and Joy an active real estate agent, the company relates. With a desire to step out of the corporate world and be his own boss, he searched for a franchise opportunity that could provide immediate cash flow.
“We looked at a number of franchise opportunities. We liked so many things about the Lapels opportunity. The people, the processes, the price point, and the digital marketing options,” says Baker.
“The most compelling part was being able to convert existing dry cleaners with an established customer base to Lapels Dry Cleaning stores so we would have immediate cash flow and wouldn’t have to build a market from scratch,” he adds.
To ensure a seamless transition, Baker retained the current staff from Hudson Cleaners, including Plant Manager Denise De Jesus, the firm notes.
“Lapels has a special way of doing things, both from our environmentally friendly way of cleaning clothes to customer service. It’s an experience that our customers will love,” says Baker.
Lapels explained that it has, “pioneered its eco-friendly drycleaning experience over the past two decades. Part of that effort includes a partnership agreement with GreenEarth®, the drycleaning industry’s non-toxic cleaning alternative,” it points out.
