TAMPA — Fourteen members of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA) gathered here recently for a strategy meeting to discuss plans for the association’s future direction, TCATA reports.
“Continued consolidation and other factors have changed the textile care industry in significant ways,” it says, “and the association’s leadership recognized that now is the time to examine TCATA’s role and how it can best serve the industry.”
The members, it points out, attending this meeting represented a cross-section of the industry: manufacturers and distributors from both the drycleaning and laundry sides.
“Those who attended expressed an enthusiasm for TCATA’s important role as the exclusive representative of manufacturers and distributors in the textile care industry,” notes Leslie Schaeffer, TCATA president.
“Many interesting ideas were put forth on ways that TCATA can offer value in a changed, consolidated industry,” she notes.
The results of this meeting, the association adds, after further discussion with the TCATA board of directors, will be announced later.
