AUSTIN, Texas — Press Cleaners, an on-demand drycleaning and laundry startup based here, reports it has recently raised $500,000 in seed funding.
“Our model allows us to expand quickly and efficiently, and the funding will allow us to ensure we continue to provide the quality of service customers demand,” says Ryan Harmon, co-founder and CEO.
The company will use the funding to expand its service footprint deeper into its current service areas, while also expanding into new cities through the end of 2017, it says.
Already during 2017, the company expanded into six new cities, including Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Oklahoma City and Chicago.
Investors involved include Rob Taylor, Jonathan Coon (founder of 1-800-Contacts), Chuck Gordon and Mario Feghali (co-founders of SpareFoot), Mike Bennett, and Capital Factory, notes the firm.
The company writes that: Pickups and deliveries can be scheduled starting at 6 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m., so there is plenty of flexibility for those with a busy lifestyle.
“We’ve found that people really value their free time, and laundry is one of the first chores that can easily be eliminated,” Harmon says.
Same-day pickups are currently available in Austin and Fort Worth, it relates, and soon to be rolling out in the other cities the firm offers service.
“Your life is busy enough, so we want to make sure that we work with your schedule, not against,” says Harmon.
A mobile app is available at the iTunes app store, Google Play store and the company website, it notes.
Press was founded in 2015, and served only the Austin area until their acceptance into the Capital Factory accelerator program in January 2017.
