SECAUCUS, N.J. — “Where did all the prom dresses go? And other burning questions,” will be addressed at the NCA Texcare 2017 show to be held at the Meadowlands Expo Center here on Oct. 20-22, notes the National Cleaners Association (NCA).
The world is changing and the world of dry cleaning is no exception, NCA indicates in show promotions.
According to NCA: “When you are planning for the future, you need to know what the future holds, and this year’s NCA Texcare program is putting the future center stage by focusing on issues facing dry cleaners today.” Here are the presentation session speakers listed by day:
Fri. morning, Oct. 20:
Lorynn Divita, PhD, author, fashion merchandising expert, textile specialist, and futurist, will report on the state of the fashion industry, the trends that will comprise the wardrobe basics of millennials and others, the future of fast fashion; and what garment manufacturers are eying for the future.
Following Dr. Divita, Nora Nellis, NCA executive director will present Millennials and the Dry Cleaner: Life Style or Life Stage, sharing insights about how dry cleaners can capitalize on this new market.
Sat. morning, Oct. 21:
Charles Ickes, chief logistics officer for Rent-the-Runway, will share with you the inside story on this market disruptor and the impact it will have on both the drycleaning and the retail fashion industry.
Sun. morning, Oct. 22:
Cleaners who use solvents and manufacturers who make them will share the stage in a panel discussion on the solvents they believe are the future of the industry. The dual roles of the presenters ensure that no question should go unanswered.
In addition to other educational seminars, the show floor will be filled with live demonstrations of equipment, new products and services available, suppliers and vendors, notes the NCA.
Admission to the show floor is free to those in the industry. Contact the NCA for details and visit Texcare 2017 to register.
