CAMBRIDGE, UK — Titled Connecting Emerging Technologies With Global Brands, the show hosted by IDTechEx will “plug in” Nov. 15-16, at the Santa Clara (Calif.) Convention Center. It features nine conferences in one combined exhibition.
Wearable USA is one of the nine, and is a conference and exhibition focusing on wearable technologies, applications, and their commercialization progress, notes show management.
The speaker program is carefully crafted, writes show analysts. The overall two-day combined exhibition will have over 250 speakers, with 50 speakers specifically covering wearable technology.
With over 3,500 attendees expected under one roof, show organizers say: “Attendees and exhibitors will have access to all co-located events. All these value chains are brought together enabling technologies that will shape the future of wearable devices.”
At the show, organizers point out, there will be “a series of synergistic events on wearables, printed electronics, sensors, IoT (Internet of Things), 3D printing, graphene and 2D materials, energy storage, electric vehicles and energy harvesting.”
Additional news from IDTechEx: Stretchable Electronics 2017-2027, is a recently published report that gives a “critical assessment of all the technologies including stretch sensors; ink-, yarn-, or wire-based stretchable interconnects.”
The electronic industry is in the midst of a major paradigm shift, the firm relates. Novel form factors are emerging, ranging from the introduction of limited stretchability, through to ultra-elastic and conformable electronics.
This transfiguration has been in the making for more than a decade now. The report predicts that stretchable electronics will become a $600 million market by 2027.
The company notes that the material and components menu for stretchable electronic includes technologies such as inks, transparent conductive films, and sensors, but also more complex devices such as transistors, batteries, energy harvesters and displays.
