LAUREL, Md. — In news that it titles Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) Graduates Return to the Workplace, both the Introduction to Drycleaning and Advanced Drycleaning's 369th classes were completed earlier this spring, reports DLI.
“We’re celebrating 90 years,” says Harry Kimmel, communications director for the Institute.
“DLI’s school of drycleaning technology began operations in 1927. The Institute has offered courses every year since, except for a brief interruption during World War II,” he notes.
The Institute writes: These courses cover the drycleaning process, stain removal, finishing, materials safety, and management. Students spent about half the time actually working with spotting boards, finishing equipment, and cleaning machines, and the other half in the classroom.
DLI also held a special post-Clean Show 2017 Introduction to Drycleaning course in mid-June. “DLI exists to help dry cleaners succeed,” it relates.
