MARSHFIELD, Mass. — In what once was a satellite store, Lapels Dry Cleaning opened a full-service, environmentally-friendly drycleaning plant here on Feb. 24. The store is located at 776 Plain St.
The Marshfield Lapels store originally opened in December 2007 and was recently taken over by local resident Kimberly Wilkinson and converted to a full-service plant.
“With the new plant, we are now using a 100% non-hazardous cleaning solution,” says Wilkinson.
Lapels, with headquarters in Hanover, Mass., has eco-friendly drycleaning experience over the past dozen years. Part of that effort includes a partnership agreement with GreenEarth® for the latter’s non-toxic cleaning alternative for Lapels’ newer locations.
Using these kinds of solutions and the latest technology in equipment, Lapels says it has no hazardous waste in its process. The process has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening their life, says the company.
“Couple that with the boutique look and feel of our store and services like free home delivery,” says Wilkinson, “and we feel very strongly that people who live and work in Marshfield will enjoy the high-quality cleaning and service Lapels provides, too.”
A warm, inviting reception area greets Lapels customers, with friendly customer service representatives and alteration services, the company notes.
