KENILWORTH, N.J. — White Conveyors is celebrating more than 70 years of producing automated garment sorting, storage and retrieval systems for the drycleaning and other industries.
“Over the past 70 years, White has excelled by being at the forefront of innovative technology and delivering superior solutions,” says Mary Speckhart, company president.
Since its formation in 1944, White Conveyors has delivered a full complement of solutions to increase the productivity of clients in the hotel/casino, correctional institution, retail, drycleaning industry and high-end residential markets.
From a humble start in a modest facility in Newark, N.J., the business manufactured accessories for the drycleaning and garment industries.
With the development of the garment storage conveyor in 1949, the company’s growth was both dramatic and consistent, White Conveyors notes. In 1956, White was awarded a patent for the Consec-U-Veyor garment storing and retrieval system which, it says, revolutionized the industry.
In fall 2004, White Conveyors expanded its Kenilworth facilities to encompass a total of 90,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space.
In 2008, the company acquired Speed Check Conveyor in Decatur, Ga., to serve the specific needs of the commercial laundry industry.
To date, White Conveyors has installed more than 75,000 conveyors in the U.S. and throughout the world, the company says.
“Our success has been built on a professional business strategy of continual investment in the best technology and people,” says Speckhart. “While White has enjoyed a brilliant past, we are also looking forward to a bright and exciting future. And we are proud to do this in the great state of New Jersey.”
