PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Want to come splash in the waves like a dolphin? The Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA) will host its 2016 Annual Management and Educational Conference here on April 27-30.
The conference theme, Connect. Learn. Lead., offers attendees the opportunity to, as the title indicates, connect with and learn from each other — and lead the industry, TCATA reports. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club will be the conference headquarters.
In between trips to the beach to enjoy the water and sunshine, and try to spot dolphins playing in the ocean, conference attendees will have the opportunity to take in a full program of social and educational activities.
Registration opens at noon Wednesday, April 27, and there is a board meeting at 1 p.m. An opening reception begins at 5 p.m.
The conference truly gets under way Thursday, April 28. Planned are a 7 a.m. golf breakfast, a golf tournament starting at 8 (with lunch at 1 p.m.), a 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. spouse/guest program and 6:30 p.m. reception and dinner.
On Friday, April 29, there is a twin bill of highlighted speakers at the conference. The first is Neil Guinan, captain, U.S. Marines, who will present Leadership — An Operators Perspective. Guinan, who commanded an elite SEAL team, will share practical advice on what effective leadership means.
Later that same morning, Nancye Combs, an executive management consultant, will offer Smart Solutions to the HR Issues of 2016. Combs will cover how to find good employees, how to conduct a legal and effective interview, and how to engage the Millennial Generation in the workplace.
Saturday morning, April 30, Brian Beaulieu, CEO of ITR Economics, will present Prosperity in an Age of Decline. He’ll discuss the future and the global economy and share insights on increasing profits.
Continental breakfast will be served Friday and Saturday, and there will be a closing dinner Saturday at 7 p.m.
