NEW ORLEANS — All the preparation work has been completed, and it’s time for the 2013 Clean Show—officially the World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning—to open here this morning at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The exhibition ends Saturday.
This year’s event is expected to draw 10,000 trade attendees over the three days, according to Riddle & Associates, the show’s longtime manager.
Educational sessions open today’s event schedule at 8 a.m., and the show floor will be open to distributors only from 8 to 10. At 10, members of the Clean Executive Committee will gather at the main entrance for the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the exhibit floor will then be open to all attendees until 5 p.m.
More than 400 exhibitors will be represented on the exhibit floor, covering roughly 200,000 net square feet.
This year’s event marks the first time since 1981 that the Clean Show has been scheduled for just three days instead of four. The Clean Executive Committee says the new schedule reflects a “more concise and efficient” format designed to give exhibitors and attendees a better value for their investment.
The Clean Show has been convened every other year since 1977 to present new technology, educational sessions and networking opportunities to all segments of the dry cleaning, laundry and textile care industry.
On Friday and Saturday, educational sessions open the Clean Show at 8 a.m. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Our staff will be reporting from the Convention Center each day — Watch this website for regular updates throughout the Clean Show!
