BERKLEY, Mich. — Wayne Wudyka, founder and chief executive officer of the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network (CRDN), has completed the purchase of the outstanding interest in the company with business partners Jeffrey Snyder and Edwin Wudyka. The three now have full ownership of the international textile-restoration company.
The Wudykas and Snyder, owners of Huntington Cleaners & Shirt Laundry in Huntington Woods, Mich., launched CRDN in 2001 in conjunction with Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Service Brands International (SBI), franchisor of brands that include 1-800-Dryclean. Huntington Cleaners has served as the model and training lab for CRDN’s textile-restoration services since.
“We expect that this new ownership structure will be transparent externally, with no major impact on the day-to-day operation of the company, while more closely linking Huntington and CRDN corporately and operationally,” Wayne Wudyka says.
By the beginning of this year, CRDN had grown to 146 textile-restoration franchises in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom. Under the new ownership structure, CRDN plans to add locations in the few remaining open U.S. territories and develop additional international markets. CRDN’s sustained growth has resulted in recognition from Inc., Entrepreneur, Franchise Times and Franchise Market magazines.
“After creating a textile-restoration division at Huntington Cleaners in the early 1990s and studying the insurance industry, it was apparent that there was a need for broad-based, consistent solution for helping carriers reduce severity and improve customer service,” Wudyka says.
“CRDN is focused on meeting the needs of those we serve by providing a highly professional and consistent level of response, communication, interaction and textile restoration,” he adds. “For carriers seeking a service provider that can develop and implement specific service levels to help them achieve their objectives, CRDN offers a viable and proven specialty contents-restoration option.”
