WASHINGTON — The United States Chamber of Commerce honored Knoxville, Tenn.-based Prestige Cleaners with the Community Excellence Award at America’s Small Business Summit 2010. Prestige won the prize by gaining over 1,500 online votes in recognition of its exemplary business practices in employee development, community involvement, customer service and strategy.
“If you want to know about the quality of a company, just talk to its customers,” says Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “Prestige Cleaners received an outpouring of support from across America. Today, we are proud to honor its achievements.”
Prestige Cleaners was founded in 1985 with a single store, three employees and used equipment. The company has since grown into one of the largest independently-owned drycleaners in the United States, with 10 locations, five delivery routes, a state-of-the-art processing plant, and a training and education center.
The Community Excellence Award is part of the U.S. Chamber’s Dream Big/Small Business of the Year Awards program.
