KANSAS CITY — More than 45 people attended GreenEarth’s Eastern Workshop & Conference, (EW&C), held last month at Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) headquarters in Laurel, Md.
Traveling from as far as California, the GreenEarth affiliates in attendance spent the weekend learning marketing strategies, spotting techniques, machinery maintenance and more. Representatives from GreenEarth, Adco, District Cleaners Equipment, DLI, Fabritec International, A.L. Wilson and marketing firm AdMoreZing appeared.
“The GreenEarth affiliate network is a powerful brain trust,” says Tim Maxwell, president of Kansas City-based GreenEarth. “When we come together for a free flow of insights, ideas and best practices, it is very invigorating.”
Offered free of charge, the conference was the second weekend workshop GreenEarth has sponsored. More than 75 people attended the first, held last May in Colorado Springs, Colo., and plans are now in the works for a February 2011 conference.
Affiliates enjoyed learning and making new connections, the company says. “Becoming a GreenEarth affiliate is the best decision I ever made,” says Ken Kinzer, operator of Bridgestone Cleaners in Brooklyn, N.Y. “It took me long time to make the switch. My only regret is not joining sooner. I’ve received so much support and made so many helpful connections.”
The silicone solvent now has more than 800 users in the United States and more than 1,700 worldwide. GreenEarth donated a drycleaning machine to DLI for use at its School of Drycleaning Technology; the association says that providing a meeting space was one small way to return the favor.
