MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Sudsies Dry Cleaners & Laundry recently doubled the capacity it devotes to vintage services. Demand is on the rise for the repair and cleaning of aging and damaged garments, the company says.
“Some of the best fashion finds are old favorites found in the backs of our closets or an inherited piece from a relative,” says Sudsies founder and CEO Jason Loeb. “Sudsies can revive these garments while preserving their respective stories and sentimental value.”
Vintage clothing is experiencing a resurgence from New York to Los Angeles, Loeb says. And South Florida’s fashionistas are taking to the vintage look fast, scouring the racks of consignment and secondhand shops.
Sudsies uses gentle cleaning and stain-removal agents on vintage garments to preserve the natural protein fibers typically used. On-site tailors and seamstresses are available to repair and update vintage pieces, and the plant imparts a fresh scent to clothing with a state-of-the-art ozone treatment.
Sudsies’ restoration team fixes clothing damage resulting from neglect, poor treatment, environmental elements and wear-and-tear. If damage results from a fire, flood or other disaster, the operation’s customer-service department can provide an itemized billing format for insurance companies.
Based on Miami Beach, Sudsies is full-service drycleaning company that offers “ecofriendly” drycleaning pickup and delivery throughout Florida’s Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
