GREENFIELD, Wis. — The Wisconsin Fabricare Institute (WFI) is holding its annual fall convention and trade show at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., Sept. 11-13, 2009.
A board meeting and dinner will kick off the weekend on Friday, Sept. 11. Business sessions and an allied-trades showcase are slated for Saturday and Sunday mornings, with speakers and topics yet to be finalized, WFI says. Saturday will also feature a golf outing at the Cold Water Canyon Golf Course, followed by a dinner with door prizes.
The front nine holes at the newly redesigned, $2 million Coldwater Canyon course play through woods and river canyons, while the back nine is a links-style course with bunkers, moguls and water hazards. The course features elevated tee boxes, a Northwoods clubhouse, and a PGA-certified instructional facility and driving range.
Chula Vista is known for its indoor and outdoor water parks. Lost Rios, an 80,000-sq.-ft. indoor park, features rides with light and sound effects, as well as 1.5 miles of waterslides. The resort offers a floating river, multiple indoor and outdoor whirlpools, water walks, water basketball, and several snack bars.
Adventure Lagoon, a three-acre outdoor water park, features more than a dozen waterslides including a 350-ft. slide, plus an outdoor hot tub and a children’s activity area with geysers, spraying cacti, floating water animals and a miniature golf course.
Chula Vista’s Spa del Sol has nine professional treatment salons offering manicures, pedicures, tanning, facials, massage therapy and more. Nearby dining options include the Kaminski Brothers Chop House, Market Fresh Buffet, Cactus Outdoor Bar & Grill, and more.
Full registration for the convention, which includes business sessions and Friday and Saturday evening buffets, Saturday and Sunday breakfast, and a Sunday lunch, is $175 for members and $150 for spouses. Individual event and meal rates, as well as special rates for children, are also available.
