Webinar to Explore Sustainability in Textile Care

CINET to examine a key strength of drycleaning industry

OPHEMERT, Netherlands — Throughout the world, the concept of sustainability is becoming increasingly relevant. As a way of helping dry cleaners and other professional textile care (PTC) companies take advantage of this fact, CINET will be sponsoring a free webinar — “Sustainability First!” — on Thursday, June 17, at 10 a.m. EST.

Being environmentally conscious can bring many benefits to a company, both from a business standpoint and to stand out from the competition in the minds of ecologically minded consumers. The professional cleaning industry is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this fact; CINET states that PTC is up to five times more sustainable than washing at home, using 35-80% less water, emitting 24% less CO2 emissions and using 17% less energy.

By drawing consumer attention to these statistics, dry cleaners and other textile professionals can use these benefits as marketing tools as sustainability continues to grow as a core value in the fight against climate change, water and plastic waste and other environmental issues.

The webinar will be hosted by CINET CEO Peter Wennekes and Dr. ir. H. Gooijer, technical manager of the Textile Care Knowledge Institute (TKT), and will cover both retail textile cleaning (business-to-consumer) and industrial textile services (business-to-business). Topics covered in the webinar will include:

  • Sustainability in Textiles and Textile Care Globally
  • Changing Markets and New Opportunities
  • Closing the Loop: Circularity of Textiles
  • International Sustainability Manifesto
