NEW YORK — WashClub, the New York-based on-demand laundry and drycleaning service, recently announced the expansion of its partnership with DoorDash to service the Bronx. The offering, which first became available to residents of Brooklyn and Queens in June, is designed to relieve busy New Yorkers of the task of doing laundry and to offer enhanced flexibility and convenience with reduced pickup and drop-off time frames.
Through the partnership, Bronx residents can select their service on the company’s app or website, receive an estimated cost and select 30-minute pickup and drop-off windows between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The price is updated or confirmed once the order is received by a WashClub facility, or one of the mom-and-pop laundromat partners across the city. The standard turnaround time is 24 hours. However, customers can choose same day service for an extra $9.95 if the order is submitted before 11 a.m.
"Many New Yorkers do not have the luxury of owning an in-unit washer and dryer, or they find it challenging to find the time for laundry in general," says Rick Rome, WashClub's CEO and founder. "This collaboration not only empowers us to offer swift, on-demand laundry delivery, but it also stimulates business for our community laundromat partners. The encouraging feedback we've received extends not only from our customers in Queens and Brooklyn, but also from the local, independent laundromats we proudly join forces with."
Throughout the past year, WashClub says it has placed a strong emphasis on enhancing operational efficiency and expanding its reach. This involved strategic investments in advanced high-efficiency washing machines as well as cutting-edge folding machines.
As the company looks ahead, it says it remains committed to exploring further avenues for bolstering sustainability. Notably, the anticipated launch of the WashClub and DoorDash partnership in Manhattan is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.
