‘Wallet-Friendly’ Store Opens in Indy

Larry and Emma Frutkin, local entrepreneurs, open their second ZIPS store

GREENBELT, Md. — “Indianapolis is embracing our eco- and wallet-friendly concept, so we’re thrilled to bring ZIPS to another neighborhood in town,” says Larry Frutkin, owner with wife Emma and Indianapolis natives.

This location at 8553 Ditch Road is the second store for these local entrepreneurs. Their first location opened in the Clearwater Springs Shopping Center last February, the cleaners notes.

With ZIPS, you know exactly how and where your clothes are being cleaned, and what it’s going to cost you,” Frutkin adds.

The cleaners relates that a customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for the same set price. It doesn’t matter if the item is a pair of pants, a dress, or a winter coat, it notes, also adding that garments are cleaned onsite.

Emma Frutkin points out: “Dry cleaning has been confusing and frustrating for customers in the past because no one was able to explain why different items cost different prices.”

She says: “ZIPS has changed the game by charging a low flat rate for all garments. It is a revolutionary, yet simple concept and we are excited to be able to share it with the Indianapolis community.”

Additionally, the cleaners notes it is, “Leading the way with new environmentally friendly practices, such as its use of biodegradable plastic bags and hanger recycling program. ZIPS recycles thousands of hangers each year, uses 100% biodegradable plastic bags, and focuses on continuing to reduce water usage and waste production,” it relates.

It is fulfilling to see the ZIPS brand continue to grow across the country,” says CEO Drew Ritger.

Dedicated and experienced franchise partners like Emma and Larry are vital for ZIPS’ success not only in growing the brand, but in providing quality service and immense value to our customers as well.”

The cleaning franchise, started in 1996, describes itself as a, “Rapidly growing garment care and drycleaning franchise known for its same-day, one-price business model,” and also points out it has more than 60 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Texas and California.

Ritger adds: “ZIPS is excited to see the successful launch of the brand by Larry and Emma in Central Indiana and is thrilled to see the second location open to serve the greater Indianapolis market.”
