Teach the World to Sew Day to Unite Sewists Across Five Continents

First-ever international celebration to connect generations of makers

NASHVILLE — This Wednesday (Oct. 22), the world will stitch together in celebration of Teach the World to Sew Day™, says SVP Worldwide. The event is a first-of-its-kind global activation spanning five continents and uniting thousands of sewists under one mission: to inspire new sewists and honor those who teach them.

Powered by the brands SINGER®, HUSQVARNA®, VIKING®, and PFAFF®, this international event will feature a mix of in-person and virtual workshops, tutorials and community gatherings in countries around the world, including Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, India, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey and the United States.

Makers of all ages and skill levels, the company says, will come together worldwide to share their passion for sewing.

“This is more than a day — it’s a movement,” says Rob Will, CEO of SVP Worldwide. “Teach the World to Sew Day is about connecting generations, cultures and communities through the timeless art of sewing. Across our brands and across the globe, we’re celebrating the people who make and the people who teach.”

With more than 2,000 participants expected around the world, SVP Worldwide says the event marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to foster creativity, build community and ensure the future of sewing for generations to come.
