WILTON MANORS, Fla. — OXXO Care Cleaners® franchisees Jonathan and Vanessa Zighelboim earlier this summer hosted the Wilton Manors Sidewalk Sale here to benefit Tomorrow’s Rainbow, a local nonprofit in Broward County. It was their sixth fundraiser of 2016.
“Our staff and the volunteers at Tomorrow’s Rainbow are calling the Wilton Manors Sidewalk Sale a great success," says Terrence Smalley, manager of OXXO Care Cleaners Wilton Manors. "We were included in another event in Wilton Manors that allowed us to reach out to more than 40,000 people who had walked by the event.”
Tomorrow’s Rainbow, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation registered in Florida, is a special place for children that have experienced the death of a loved one. The charity’s mission is to provide grieving children, teens and their families an emotionally safe environment for hope and healing through guidance, education and support on a beautiful, small horse farm in west Broward, notes OXXO.
“Community members are now aware that OXXO Cares Cleaners is a community-focused brand and they were able to learn about our work with Tomorrow’s Rainbow charity,” Smalley notes.
“There are so many wonderful nonprofits in the Wilton Manors area,” says co-owner Vanessa Zighelboim. “We’ve wanted to get involved for a long time and are really happy we’ve been able to host (these) great events all to help benefit some worthy causes like Tomorrow’s Rainbow.”
How the OXXO Care Cleaners Wilton Manors Sidewalk Sale works: any forgotten or donated clothing on the racks at the Las Olas and Wilton Manors locations is put up for sale at Wilton Manors, with a percentage of the funds raised donated to Tomorrow’s Rainbow, the company indicates.
“We encourage our franchisees to get involved and give back to their community,” says Salomon Mishaan, OXXO Care Cleaners founder and president. “Hosting charitable events like the Wilton Manors Sidewalk Sale is a perfect example of how any business, like ours, can work together to raise awareness for local organizations.”
