SDA to Hold Annual Meeting in March

‘Automation for the Win’ is the event’s theme

LEANDER, Tx. — The Southwest Drycleaners Association recently announced that it plans to hold its annual meeting March 4-5 in San Antonio, Texas, with a focus on ways to increase efficiency without increasing payroll.

The event, titled “Automation for the Win,” will be held at The Menger Hotel, located in the tourist-friendly Riverwalk area of the city.

In addition to meetings and networking opportunities with other drycleaning professionals, attendees will take a tour of Culpepper Cleaners, hosted by owner Jess Culpepper. Culpepper, who is also the newly elected chair of the Drycleaners & Laundry Institute (DLI) and a third-generation dry cleaner, will demonstrate the benefits of the automation at the facility, including two new automated assembly systems — one for dry cleaning and one for the company’s laundry operations.

During the meeting, new board members will also be elected. Recreational activities, including a golf event, will be available, as well. The Menger Hotel, the SDA notes, is also close to many attractions on the Riverwalk, including restaurants, shopping, bars and The Alamo.

More information will be available closer to the event. For details or to register for the meeting, visit the SDA website.
