Plant Design Awards Entries Due by Friday

Publication seeks to honor industry’s best and brightest

CHICAGO — Have you invested in renovations, equipment updates, or a whole new drycleaning plant within the last year? American Drycleaner has been accepting entries in its 54th Annual Plant Design Awards competition for several weeks now and the time to enter is growing short.

“Every year, the magazine honors the best new plants and renovation projects, recognizing them for appearance, efficiency, convenience and comfort,” says Editorial Director Bruce Beggs. “Your plant could be next.”

Beggs advises entrants to fill out the online entry form completely and upload a layout (either a blueprint or sketch), and several color photos that show off the features that make their drycleaning plant “an excellent place to do business.”

Photos should be high resolution: 300 dpi or greater.

“And include any information in your entry that you feel is relevant to the way your plant’s design attracts customers and fulfills your production needs. The more detailed your entry, the better!” Beggs says.

Corona Del Mar (CDM) Cleaners, Newport Beach, Calif., is the reigning Grand Prize Winner. Intent on conveying a message of excellence to customers not only through superior drycleaning and laundry services but through its image, CDM designed and constructed a new store that is integrated seamlessly into the surrounding retail community.

“Perhaps you’ll join the likes of CDM Cleaners, or Rainbow Cleaners in Oxford, Miss., or Margaret’s Cleaners in San Diego, at the pinnacle of the drycleaning industry,” Beggs says. “But you can’t win if you don’t enter.”

The deadline for entries is this Friday, Oct. 3.

To learn more about this year’s contest and to nominate a plant for awards consideration, complete and submit the online entry form.

Attention: All plant owners entering the competition should e-mail Beggs ([email protected]) to confirm their Plant Design Awards entry has been received. This includes entries submitted prior to today!
