BERKLEY, Mich. — Wayne Wudyka, founder and CEO of bizzie, the dry cleaning service concept that integrates personalized locker-based service and mobile technology, has announced the first four new franchises for the national brand.
“We are very pleased to introduce the first of what we expect will be many new franchise partners,” Wudyka says. “bizzie is attracting an all-star cast, with significant interest, and we are proud of the extremely high level of talented professionals who have chosen to join us.”
The new franchisees include:
- Dale and Don Velez, Young’s Dry Cleaning, New Orleans
- Rick Murphy, American Cleaners, Oklahoma City
- Brad Paluck, Mt. Hood Cleaners, Portland, Ore.
- David Whitehurst, Champion Cleaners, Birmingham, Ala.
The brand is now approved to offer franchises across the United States, minus only Maryland and Hawaii. “We anticipate approval in those final two states very soon,” says Greg Longe, bizzie president.
The bizzie model is based on three initial service lines: 1) home/office pick-up and delivery of dry cleaning and laundry, 2) on-site cleaning of window treatments and light upholstery, and 3) locker-based delivery service.
The opportunity to join a national network has been attractive to dry cleaners who have seen Wudyka’s success with CRDN, the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network, an international franchise organization launched at the Clean Show 10 years ago. Today’s CRDN’s 140-plus franchises serve 94% of the U.S. population, along with all major cities in Canada as well as the United Kingdom.
