In Memoriam: Sharon W. Kajiwara, Arthur Kajiwara Equipment Co.

Partner in dry cleaning equipment company dies at 77

SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. — Sharon W. Kajiwara, a partner with her husband, Arthur, in Arthur Kajiwara Equipment Co., died on March 12, 2022. She was 77.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kajiwara moved to the mainland to attend college at Woodbury University in Los Angeles, where she would meet her husband. An avid entrepreneur, she operated several home-based businesses and would establish with her husband Arthur Kajiwara Equipment Co. in 1964, the same year they were married.

The couple went on to own several other businesses in addition to the dry cleaning equipment company, including 1-Hour Photo stores, a drycleaning business, and most recently, This N’ That, a dry cleaning/scrapbooking/gift shop.

Sharon is survived by her husband: Arthur Kajiwara; son: Lance & Tammy Kajiwara; daughters: Diana & Chad Harrell; Debra & Ken Johnson; and Kari & Jason Williams; grandchildren: Magdalena, Miranda, & Joshua Kajiwara; Keilani, Kekoa, & Kale’a Johnson; and Tyler Williams; brothers: Edwin Aloiau, Jr., Walter Aloiau, and Alan & Joanne Aloiau; niece and nephew: Arissa & Archer Aloiau. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dale.

There will be a memorial service on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Inland Hills Church, located at 14670 Ramona Avenue in Chino, California, 91710.
