In Memoriam: Harry G. Campagna

CHICAGO — Harry G. Campagna, chairman of Chicago-based press-pad manufacturer Qualitex Co., passed away in late December surrounded by his family.
Campagna held various positions at Qualitex during his more than 44 years with the company and was also a majority shareholder of the company for most of those years. Campagna and his late wife, Fredi (former Qualitex vice president and also a majority shareholder), were strong supporters of the drycleaning and garment-apparel industries and also longtime members of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA).
Daughter Ava B. Campagna survives him at Qualitex, and will continue on as its president and general counsel. “My father, Harry, leaves behind a legacy at Qualitex and within our industries that will not be forgotten,” she says. “Above all else, as echoed by many of our industry colleagues, he was a true gentleman in both business and in life. It has been an honor to work with both of my parents during my more than 19 years at Qualitex, and I am proud to carry on the legacy of our family business.”
