Maryland ZIPS Store Still ‘Best’ in its County, Magazine Reports

GREENBELT, Md. — ZIPS Dry Cleaners in Columbia, Md., was recently named the best dry cleaner in Howard County for the third consecutive year, the company reports.

Published annually by Howard Magazine, the “Best of Howard County” contest invites readers to nominate their favorite businesses and community members in 64 different categories, says ZIPS Dry Cleaners.

“It feels great to be listed along with some of the top businesses in the region,” says store owner John Rusnak. “We have a wonderful staff and our customers trust us to take care of an important element of their day-to-day lives. We love what we do.”

The company boasts its “green” practices—like using biodegradable plastic bags and recycling hangers—as well as its “one-price model.” Garments are cleaned on-site, the company adds, allowing for same-day service.

“Our goal is to consistently deliver absolute customer satisfaction at a very affordable price point,” Rusnak adds. “The fact is that everyone needs dry cleaning in some capacity. The real question customers should ask themselves is, ‘Would I rather pay $50-$60 for 10 pieces to be dry cleaned, or $19.90 for the same 10 pieces and have it done in one day?’”

There are 36 ZIPS stores operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Company Vice President of Operations Andy Cucchiara estimates there will be as many as 100 by 2015.
