WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Lapels Dry Cleaning recently announced the opening of Lapels Dry Cleaning of Wilkes-Barre at 360 Kidder St in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Parminder Kaur is the owner of the drycleaning plant and store.
The new facility is designed to follow the company’s focus for providing environmentally friendly drycleaning services to customers. That focus was key in Kaur’s decision to enter into the franchise.
“Lapels Dry Cleaning utilizes the world’s only 100-percent environmentally non-toxic cleaning process,” she says. “Clothes are not only cleaned in a way that’s better for the environment but there’s no odor as you find with other dry cleaning processes. Clothes just look and feel better. We are so excited to bring the Lapels experience to the Wilkes-Barre area.”
Prior to owning Lapels Dry Cleaning of Wilkes-Barre, Kaur owned a transportation business. In looking for a franchise opportunity, she chose Lapels Dry Cleaning for its systems and programs.
“There are parallels in running a transportation business and a drycleaning store and plant. It’s all about planning and logistics,” Kaur says. “Even though I had not necessarily been looking at drycleaning franchises, I was so impressed with Lapels and its offering that it made my decision relatively easy.”
For the past two decades, Lapels says it has concentrated on providing eco-friendly dry-cleaning experiences for its customers. The company has a partnership agreement for its newer locations with GreenEarth, the dry cleaning industry’s only non-toxic cleaning alternative. Through using these kinds of solutions and the latest technology in equipment, Lapels states that it is one of the few dry cleaners able to boast that there is no hazardous waste in its process. This environmentally friendly cleaning process, it goes on to say, has no odor and is gentler on clothes, thus lengthening the life of clothes.
