Koalaty Cleaners Gives Back to Its Community

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Koalaty Cleaners in Southlake, Texas, has launched a program that allows customers to give back to the community. Called Koalaty Cares!, the program allows clients to designate 3% of their sales for donation to a local school or school-sponsored club.
For every dollar a customer spends at one of Koalaty Cleaners’ three locations in Southlake and Coppell, Texas, three cents is returned to the community. The program currently supports Carroll, Grapevine/Colleyville and Coppell schools, as well as the Carroll Debate Club.
Koalaty operator Lennie Segal developed the program with input from  local school officials, and launched it in September. “I love being a business owner in the great city of Southlake and want to show my appreciation,” he says.
While the program is still relatively new, clients are giving it rave reviews, Segal says. Some have designated specific organizations within the Carroll schools to receive the donations. “My son — who is on the Carroll Debate Team — directly benefits from a service that everyone needs,” says Laura Campanello a longtime customer. “Dollars for drycleaning — what a concept!”
