Dress Donations Being Accepted for Ultra Chic Boutique

Proceeds from Feb. 3, 2018 event will go to Alzheimer’s Association

OMAHA, Neb. — Max I. Walker dry cleaner and launderer announces the 11th Annual Ultra Chic Boutique, which will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Ultra Chic Boutique event will take place on Feb. 3, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at A View on State Street on 134th and State Streets here.

Dress donations are now being accepted across the Omaha metro area at all 23 Max I. Walker locations.

Employees will clean, press, and mend donated dresses at no charge. For just $30 each (cash only) all donated dresses will be sold at the once-per-year sale on Feb. 3, with all proceeds being donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The proceeds from purchased dresses and raffle tickets go to the Alzheimer’s Association to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health, the cleaner says.

The Ultra Chic Boutique first began in 2007 with just a few hundred donated dresses and a small space to sell the gowns.

The cleaner will also host the 4th Annual Dress Flip in 2018. It will choose several local fashion designers to take 3-4 of the Ultra Chic Boutique dresses and apply their creativity to “flip” them into something completely new.

The dresses will be showcased at the Ultra Chic Boutique by models from Develop Model Management and reviewed by a prestigious panel of judges from Fashion Institute Guild and Fashion Institute Midwest.

The winning dress will be announced at the 11th Annual Ultra Chic Boutique and its designer will win $500, it indicates.
