DOL Releases New Minimum Wage Poster

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has released a revised Federal minimum wage poster to reflect the recently enacted increases to the minimum wage. The poster can be viewed, downloaded and printed from its website, www.dol.gov.
All employers subject to the Fair Labor Standard Act’s minimum-wage provisions must post a notice continuously and conspicuously in their establishments to allow employees to read and understand the terms of the Act. Additional posters and compliance assistance materials will be available in the coming weeks, DOL says.
The Federal minimum wage increased 70 cents last week to $5.85 per hour, and is scheduled to increase each summer until it reaches $7.25 per hour in 2009. Thirty states now mandate a minimum wage higher than the new Federal level.
