ORANGE, Calif. — The Southern California Cleaners Association (SCCA) will present a webinar, “Lease Negotiations and Tenants Rights,” on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. PST.
The relationship between a dry cleaner and the landlord can often spell the difference between success and failure, especially in an era where margins are tight, environmental regulations are evolving and demographics are constantly shifting. Being able to effectively negotiate real estate contracts during initial meetings or when leases come up for renewal is a vital skill that dry cleaners must possess.
This free webinar will also discuss the valuation for selling a drycleaning business, comparing the industry's current state and sales to the pre-COVID era of 2019. The event will also include a question-and-answer section.
The experts speaking at the webinar will be:
- George Ross — Ross is the co-owner of Rix Business Sales and has 33 years of experience in commercial real estate, with 20 years as an expert in leasing in the drycleaning industry.
- Riaz Chauthani — Chauthani is president of Polo Cleaners in Southern California and co-owner of Rix Business Sales. He has spent 28 years in the drycleaning industry and has negotiated more than 500 lease agreements.
