LAUREL, Md. — A new iOS app from the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) offers a stain removal solutions tool as well as a library of garment problems and their causes. An Android version will be introduced this fall, DLI says.
The iOS app for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch uses an intuitive menu system to assist users in identifying the type of garment and stain to reveal the stain removal solution.
Also, DLI’s popular Technical Analysis Bulletin Service (TABS) series describes common problems found in the cleaning process and is written for a general consumer audience, which may prove useful in explaining a problem to a customer.
The app is free to all U.S. DLI Silver, Gold, and Premiere and International members, DLI says. Budget members and non-members may try the app free for one month using a code obtained at www.DLIonline.org/app.
DLI says “continual updates for the app’s usefulness will expand over time.” More stain solutions and new bulletin libraries are expected in an update later this year.
