DLI Honors Tuchman with Diamond Achievement Award

LAS VEGAS — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) kicked off the pre-show educational sessions by welcoming attendees and naming two winners of its 2011 Meritorious Service Awards.

Sid Tuchman received DLI’s highest honor, the Diamond Achievement Award. The award “recognizes an individual who, through his or her efforts, has raised the professionalism of the drycleaning industry.”

Tuchman got into the drycleaning business by working for his father and eventually built his own 32-store chain covering five states. He told attendees that receiving the award is “the proudest moment of my business life.”

He used the opportunity to remind DLI members that the keys to running a successful business are keeping customers and hiring “class A” people at every level in an operation.

Additionally, the Industry Positive Recognition Award went to AristoCraft.
