BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — For the last 34 years, Coats for Kids has collected and cleaned over 400,000 coats to help kids in need, explains Pilgrim Dry Cleaners.
“This year we hope to continue our trend of surpassing our yearly goal of 10,000 coats and collect and clean as many coats as possible,” the cleaners relates.
“The need for coats continues to grow from our local charity and school partners and we hope to be able to continue to meet that need again this year,” Pilgrim adds.
With the help of Alerus Mortgage, they write, “we have already started out our 2019 drive with a $20,000 donation which we will use to purchase our first 1,000 coats for this year's drive.”
Pilgrim notes that its goal is to get more schools, churches, offices, and other local businesses involved to help them collect coats.
“If they are interested in donating they can sign up to help us collect coats by going to our website or check donations can be made out to Pilgrim Dry Cleaners,” it says.
The coat drive goes until October 12, however Pilgrim notes that it will accept coats after the date. Coats get distributed in October, it says.
