NEW ORLEANS — Clean ’09, the premier event for the commercial laundering, drycleaning and textile maintenance and rental industry, opened Thursday morning, just before 10 a.m., featuring a little New Orleans fare — a roving jazz band and Mardi-Gras-costumed character who handed out beads to attendees.
Representatives of the six sponsoring associations were on hand to cut the ribbon and signify the opening of the exhibit hall. Roger Cocivera, chairman of the Clean ’09 Executive Committee and president/CEO of TRSA, and David Cotter, TCATA CEO, shared the ribbon-cutting honors.
“Welcome to the ‘new’ New Orleans,” Cocivera said as he greeted attendees waiting to tour the exhibit hall. Cocivera joked about keeping his opening comments down to two minutes. He also promised attendees that they would see the best equipment available in the world.
“Clean ’09 will be the finest show ever held,” he said. “Enjoy your trip here.”
This is the fourth time that the Clean Show has been held in New Orleans. This year’s show theme is “Look, Learn, Listen.”
Clean ’11 will be held June 6-9, 2011, in Las Vegas.
