Automation Options Abound on Clean Show Floor

NEW ORLEANS — Drycleaners looking to add to their plants’ automation need look no further than the Clean Show floor, as speeding up production and increasing efficiency is the focus of many exhibitor booths.
One such company, HMC Solutions, has enhanced its Fetch! Anytime Cleaning Retriever and ADAC (Automated Drycleaning Assembly Conveyor), and it’s showing these products off on the show floor.
Fetch! has a unit that transfers garments between the storage conveyor and the kiosk cabinet. This lets the system transfer garments from the conveyor to the kiosk and back. This lets the occasional customer/user who forgets a garment go back for it. Fetch! automatically senses when an item is left behind and puts it back onto the storage conveyor.
Fetch! also has new user interface that gives customers more options, such as an “express drop-off” feature that allows return users to drop off bagged garments quickly, and a smaller kiosk design that fits in smaller spaces.
The ADAC now includes an optional component called ADAC Plus, which allows drycleaners to implement automated assembly even if interfacing with a POS system isn’t practical for them. It provides mark-in stations, and bar codes are used to identify garment information.
