DLI Unveils September Networking and Education Offerings

Tips to focus on building routes, maintenance, marketing and more

LAUREL, Md. — The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) has announced its schedule of virtual and in-person offerings for September. This month’s offerings focus on building and maintaining routes, along with tips on ongoing maintenance and marketing.

Building a Strong Route Foundation

This month’s featured webinar, “Starting (& Jump Starting) Your Route from Scratch,” features Mark Albrecht of The Route Pros. “Having worked with nearly 150 dry cleaners and laundromats, Mark will share many tips, tricks, and best practices he’s seen work,” DLI says in its announcement. “This webinar is perfect for those just launching a route, or those looking to jump-start them again.”

The webinar will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. Eastern and is free for DLI members. An on-demand video will be available afterward for those who could not attend live or wish to review the presentation.

Maintenance Masterclass

DLI’s next Maintenance Masterclass will take place on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. Eastern. The session will feature short, practical presentations from suppliers and manufacturers, followed by an open discussion where attendees can ask questions and learn what works in real-world operations.

Marketing Masterclass

DLI’s ongoing Marketing Masterclass will meet on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern. The session presents a forum for members to learn about strategies and tactics that sell drycleaning services, with guest speakers sharing their knowledge and experience. Participants are invited to ask questions and vote on next month’s topic.

September Course Registration Deadlines

The registration deadline for DLI’s In-Person Introduction to Drycleaning Course and Advanced Drycleaning Course is Monday, Sept. 28. The introduction course runs Oct. 5-9, and the advanced course runs Oct. 12-23. “This pair of hands-on courses cover essential skills,” DLI says, “including sorting garments for dry cleaning, cleaning delicate fabrics like silk and satin, operating drycleaning machines, removing common stains such as coffee, ink, and grease, pressing various garments and using tensioning equipment to enhance finishing quality.”

Weekly Peer Networking Meetings

Each Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern, DLI offers peer-to-peer meetings where members can share challenges, exchange ideas and learn from fellow operators. For more information, visit DLIonline.org/Membership or call 800-638-2627.
